Three Days Worth

Already behind on my posts, oh dear! Here's three day's worth of pictures.

My last full day in L'Artaudie gifted me a beautiful golden hour. Unfortunately I got carried away tending to the fire and only made slim use of the beautiful lighting by sticking to the yard. Here's a detail shot of the garage door and a self-portrait in the front window.

After lunch the next day, we drove two hours to the city of Lyon where we'd be taking the plane the next day. It's one of the largest cities outside of Paris. We spent the afternoon traipsing around in the little pedestrian streets of the old section of the city.

La Saone, one of the two rivers that slices through the city.

Our jail cell of a hotel room right by the airport.

Sunday was a day of airports and airplanes. Here's our A380...the grimy windows made for an instant hipster filter!

I'm back on campus now for my first day of the last quarter of college. I don't feel particularly melodramatic or nostalgic or anything right now though. Just tired. :)

A Picture A Day Keeps the Doctor Away

I know it's a cheesy and gimmicky goal but I'm going to try to take and post a picture a day! I hope this will encourage me to both shoot more and post more (aka more than never ever at all).

Spring break in L'Artaudie has been strange. To be dumped from the full throttle stress of finals into a life that turns solely around cheese, bad French TV, building fires, and bickering relatives is confusing to say the least. But just like that, break is almost already over. Unbelievably, my last quarter of college awaits on the other side.

These sunsets remain irresistible to me even though I've probably taken roughly this same picture ten times in my life. Without any bits of horizon to provide perspective, I like to imagine that the clouds and colors here constitute the surreal swirls of a painting.
